Kurri Kurri Nostalgic Festival 2009
We decided to just go the Saturday and Sunday. We left home at around 8 a.m and arrived at Kurri Kurri at about 10.30 a.m It was a good drive without much traffic. The Saturday was supposed to be low keyed but there were still plenty of cars to see and people to to talk to. I will leave the rest to the pics taken on Sunday.
| This Willys belongs to Les Buckley of
Australian Kit Cars. He built it a while back but Les has now made it two
tone with a bit of pin striping and ghost flames in the top section. It
stands out a lot more now. Very rare and different. The next pic is a 32 5 window. I like the colour scheme. |

Big cruiser Buick pillarless. Willys coupe that's not a gasser style....now that's different:-) |
| This 34 Tudor looks clean....The hood was open so it must be hiding something impressive....Whatdya know...a Clevo;-) |
| This 28 Tudor looked real clean. Resto
style, that's what I like. These two 'Stangs would look nice in my garage...a fastback and a convert.... |
| XP convert fits in well with the crowd. The Auburn/Cord?...most probably a replica, but then I'm no expert. It was long in the hood. Very Art Deco. |
| The XT? had wild paint. The pic doesn't do
it justice. This 57 Chev is super nice. |
| Big Caddies were everywhere...al year models
and styles...but they had one thing in common...they were all L O N G!!!! The next pic is a local rodder....I believe it's a 56...but it is a wagon for sure;-).Nice cruiser. |
| The Holden boys where there in force..here
is a line of restored FE/FCs Big black with spinners...super cool Buick. |
| Stock 31 coupe, still LHD....pristene. More Mustangs..red ones the most common. |
| Studibaker convert beside a Lark. Pinstriper doing his thing on this wild coupe. |
| A roadster pickup with speckled paint
scheme. This Willys roadster is fairly rare. |
| 39/40 roadster pickup was cool. 28? Chevy roadster looks serious...I like it. |
| The warning on the door says it all...Imagine what it will say when it's painted;-) |

Rockabilly bands playing in the street and park. The first
band is No Brakes and I was told they ripped the local club up on Friday
night. The talk was every where how good the night was. Makes me regret not
coming up earlier. Still, we see these guys quite a lot and they always give
a good performance. The next band is Firebird...one word WOW!!! Can these boys play...They hail from Melbourne and I have heard they were good, but I never expected this. I generally cringe when bands try to play Stray Cats stuff, but these boys do them perfectly. I was in awe. They also play other stuff and their own originals....I am a big fan now. |

| Last pic, as usual, just to show we were there. The 37 ran like a dream. I sometimes lift the hood, have a quick look, shrug my shoulders and close it.;-) It 's still great to drive...Oh yeah...it got into the top ten!!!...seems others like it as well. Big thanks to the host club Californian Cruisin. |
